NOFIN opposes the doomsday dualism of accelerationist and decelerationist tendencies implying a predefined linear process that can only be influenced in terms of speed, seeking a more complex evaluation and validation of strategies, processes, tactics and ideas to find alternative routes beneficial to all mankind and earth, and ultimately, a systemic change.
NOFIN is not here to comment on and get entangled in the poisonous, fanged, nettle-clad tentacles of the Arena, the great distraction machinery that is current political or economic affairs, events or tendencies. To discuss these means to play by the very peoples agenda who seek to uphold and solidify the status quo of capital and property and thereby further advance inequality and injustice. NOFIN is here to examine and promote other, different ways towards solutions, towards a better and more reasonable, just world, for all life on earth.
Guided by the principles of Panhumanism, we call for total equality in rights, supplies and dignity while at the same time maintaining maximum individual freedom for everyone compatible with a peaceful global society and local community. We propose to abolish property and currency, as well as putting an end to corruption by dismantling, and subsequently reinventing, economy and politics. This could be achieved, we propose, by transferring general systemic organization to an AI administration monitored by a power-proof human council. Instead of luxury, we want to talk about sufficiency for all with regard to their individual needs. In consequence, the economic apparatus - in the sense of creation and transfer of goods - would so have to be remodeled to a mechanism of Automated Need-based Distribution (ANDRO), enabling optimal resource efficiency through fully automated production and distribution logistics. In addition to the fulfillment of basic needs, the individual realization of personal interests can be achieved by the establishment of an Automated Library Of Things (A-LOT). The envisioned overall system can thus effectively be described as Fully Automated Sufficiency Communism (FASC).
At the core of a panhumanist paradigm lies the Common Enemy Theory (CET). Only if we understand that mankind, not as individuals but as the abstract entity of a species, is our sole worst enemy, we can come together to understand processes and progress on a global scale and leave regional, national, religious or ethnic conflicts behind – without neglecting individual interests that derive from differences and the uniqueness of every human being. The defining trait we all share is being human: of one and the same species, seeking fulfillment of similar needs and longings, including pursuing our dreams and unfolding our aspirations. The things that separate and divide us are either superficial or cultural and can be overcome under the premise of the Common Enemy Theory; Common as in familiar, as we all know us and ourselves, and common as in collective, as nothing else threatens our existence as much as we ourselves – as a species – do.
Fiction has long provided sample narratives demonstrating the underlying working principle of the Common Enemy Theory, where an often extraterrestrial or pandemic threat arrives to put an end to the existence of all mankind, calling for unity and determination in order to persist. The lack of such a common enemy is regularly mentioned as the critical flaw of panhumanist dreams, for such a horror to show up is the crucial precondition for enabling a global perspective for each individual. NOFIN proclaims: the horror has long arrived, and it‘s us.
All sense of responsibility, creativity and good intentions of the individual dissolve in the group dynamics of greater constructed ARCHs like corporations, societies, nations. Once there‘s only one great ARCH embracing all people, forged and coded and therefore inherently incapable of doing anything else but to protect us from itself, there will be no other group, no construction, no other ARCH remaining to fight.
The abolition of the concepts of property and currency along with all related structures will lead to the ultimate erasure of competition, the obsolete survival mechanism primarily deriving from existential fears; further inhibiting less noble instincts as envy or greed, as social status will no longer depend on wealth, abundance or scarcity. All human beings will have the opportunity to take care of their lives and unfold their potential within their neighborhood and district as well as within the global society, instead of being exploited and instrumentalized against their will or without their consent or knowledge.
With total equality in rights and supplies, there will be no opportunity for any human to mislead, utilize and exploit other humans for accumulating personal wealth and power – concepts by then already obsolete, disdained, out of use; rejected by the global community after the epiphany sparked by the experience of true justice and peace kicks in.
To ensure said equality, a hypothetical system supporting a panhumanist global society needs to be entirely free of corruption. Besides the overcoming of property and currency, NOFIN considers AI governance and administration of resources, production and distribution of necessary supplies, with regards to individual needs of every human, as the most realistic scenario. Most likely, despite assuming a high grade of self-organization and independence of communities and regions, this might require some degree of data-driven surveillance and include an uncompromisable executive and judiciary apparatus.
Avoiding a machines vs. humans sentiment (or reality), a human council, composed of a reasonable number of representatives from all across the globe and of all demographic categories who are randomly, algorithmically and/or systematically selected and limited to short terms of service to avoid accumulation of power, will permanently supervise, discuss and adapt the framework and set of rules the AI is allowed to operate within, without being able to change the panhumanist core values embedded deeply in the machine‘s source code. Naturally, such a system has to be carefully crafted and several other security mechanisms will have to be considered and integrated.
Needless to say, the latter is only one roughly outlined scenario, one possible way of envisioning a post-capitalist, panhumanist global society. NOFIN is constantly looking for other perspectives, other ways to accomplish this long-term goal. More importantly, there‘s a lot to be discussed and engaged along the way.
NOFIN is hoping to contribute to transformation across all human sectors, especially concerning education, knowledge distribution and socio-econo-ecological approaches towards mutualism with (our human) nature. We can solve this only together, united as one. Welcome to the journey, hope to get in touch soon!
Humanity is not finished.
